This wine is named after the first lighthouse built on the towering cliffs of Cape Maclear at the south-western tip of Africa. As far back as 1860 it served as a beacon, guiding ships and early sailors to safety in the often treacherous seas of the Cape of Storms . Cape Maclear is aptly named as the cool sea breezes in summer have an important influence on the development of its grapes.

This wine has a bright deep ruby color. Very expressive with mint, toffee, liquorice, red cherry and violet nuances.Velvety entrance, well balanced acidity and tannins with lovely cherries and liquorice in mouth flavours. Soft, persistent elegant finish.
